Comments:

The CD is nearly an hour of traditional Hawaiian hula music, all with Uluwehi's sweet, angelic voice singing some of his personal favorites. His own signature vocal harmonies and full arrangements are captivating and soothing. The mix of familiar and less known songs of varying tempos and styles ensures there are some things on this lovely CD for everyone to enjoy. A special original composition paying homage to Japan and evoking the beauty of her cherry blossoms is a delightful surprise.

Reviews: Friday August 7, 2009 Wayne Harada - Honolulu Advertiser: Uluwehi Guerrero is another Na Hoku male vicalist winner and a Maui kumu hula, whose contibutions have hula implications, with proud links to the Valley Isle. Overview: Maui gets prime attention via "Maui Medley", "Haleakala Hula" and "Laupahoehoe Hula", but the CD also includes stories about "Beautiful Kahana", "Hilo Hula" and Japan on "Nani Kamakura". En route, Guerrero's chameleon tones, as falsetto and tenor, should ignite your inner hula spirit. Friday July 24, 2009 John Berger - Honolulu Star Bulletin Uluwehi Guerrero's new album comes nine years after the last one. His turn-of-the-millenium release "In My Heart", won him a Na Hoku Hanohano award for Best Male Vocal of the Year in 2001 .His new album----- Guerrero translates the titleas "beloved hula songs", -- has everything it needs to be a winner at the 2010 Hoku Awards next spring. It woulod do Hawaiian music proud as a finalist at the 2010 Grammy Awards as well. Guerrero is primarily heard as a falsetto vocalist, but uses his lower tenor voice effectively on several selections. as teh title implicates, Guerrero is emphacizing his ability as a song stylist to personalize his hula standards-- The the collection includes classics by Bill Ali`iloa Lincoln (" Ku`u Milimili"), Charles E. King ("Lei Ilima"), Alice Namakelua ("Haleakala Hula"), and Helen Desha Beamer ("Na Kuahiwi`Elima"). Mary Kawena Pukui and Maddy Lam are also represented by a beautiful rendition of "Pua Ahihi" that is one of the gems in the collection. "Laupahoehoe Hula" shows another side of Guerrero's repertoire --he slips in a few English words at the end. "Nani Kamakura", an original hapa-kepani (half Japanese)song, reflects his work as a kumu hula and entertainer in Japan. A beautifully illustrated liner notes bookleti ncludes the Hawaiian lyrics and the Japanese lyrics for "Nani Kamakura" as well.
