A true artist of Hawaiian music, she is a self-taught musician influenced by family songs. From her family come deeply rooted traditions, knowledge and values which she presents with the voice that has made her known throughout Hawaii, the continental United States as well as abroad. Her first premier recording gave her 9 Na Hoku Hanohano award nominations and an astounding 5 awards which include Female Vocalist of the Year and Traditional Hawaiian Album of the Year. Her second recording gave her 3 nominations and also was a Na Hoku Hanohano award winner. For her most recent release of "So Sweet", she was again nominated for Female Vocalist of the Year award and did garner the Traditional Album Of the Year by the Hawaiian Music Awards.
